Sold Secure maintains ISO quality status
Sold Secure has once again successfully passed its ISO 9001 quality audit. Commenting on the matter Steve Warren, Lab Manager said “it’s great to see the hard work and effort put in to the efficient and quality compliant running of the company be recognised with the renewal of our ISO accreditation”.
Sold Secure helps Hampshire Police
Sold Secure were delighted to have been invited by the Hampshire police force to assist with a local crime reduction event. Helping with the police display at the event Justin Freeman, Technical Manager, was able to assist members of the public with information on why it’s important to use Sold Secure approved products.
Sold Secure delighted to work with Police Forces
Sold Secure is delighted to have been asked to provide input to crime reduction initiatives being run by both the Met and the South Yorkshire police forces. Information including PDF versions of the approved products catalogue along with extra information on the MLA’s Minimum Security Guidelines for Domestic Property were provided for their respective crime reduction initiatives and further forces have been in touch for initial discussions. Commenting on the collaboration Sold Secure Development Director Dr Steffan George commented “it’s great to see this further evidence of Sold Secure working with its stakeholders to promote the use of independently tested products that have passed the Sold Secure approval scheme”.
Sold Secure back at HOSDB 2010
Sold Secure is pleased to be back exhibiting at HOSDB 2010 (16th - 18th March 2010) - the UK’s main event for displaying the latest security equipment for law enforcement and public security. The event focuses on the four key Home Office business areas: Crime and Policing, Security and Counter Terrorism, Identity Management and Border Security and allowed Sold Secure to promote the use of approved products to the various government body representatives in attendance.
Sold Secure Prices to be kept the same
The directors of Sold Secure are delighted to be able to report that prices for the renowned Sold Secure Accreditation will be kept the same for 2010. The board feel that whilst the UK may officially be out of recession, by keeping prices at the same level Sold Secure will be able to help its customers in these still difficult economic times.

Delegates at ACPO training event pleased to see Sold Secure present
Architectural Liaison Officers and Crime Prevention Design Advisers attending the ACPO SBD Training event in Nottingham (26-28 January 2010) were pleased to see Sold Secure exhibiting. A number of positive comments were obtained from police officers keen to promote the use of Sold Secure approved products with long queues forming for obtaining copies of the Approved Products Catalogue.

Cylinder Test Specification updated
Friday the 20th of November 2009 saw Sold Secure launch its updated SS312 Specification for Lock Cylinders with the introduction into the Gold Level, of the General Vulnerability of BS3621:2007 Annex A. SS312 Gold level has always tested to the highest level of EN1303 but previously did not include the GVA. The full test will be carries out by qualified MLA member locksmiths testers who have the experience and skill required to perform the tests.
Sold Secure takes centre stage at MLA Expo
Sold Secure took centre stage with their own dedicated stand at MLA Expo 09 (25th-27th September). The event was a fantastic opportunity to promote the company and approved products to the numerous crime prevention, insurance personnel and of course locksmiths who attended the show.
Sold Secure attends first Tracker Industry Association Meeting
As further proof of their leading status in the industry, Sold Secure were have been invited to join the new Tracker Industry Trade Association. The inaugural meeting was held at AVCIS on the 27th of August and was attended by various manufacturers as well as police, insurers and crime prevention personnel. Steffan George, director of Sold Secure said “we’re delighted to have been involved in this vital and growing section of the industry and we look forward to working with the group to futher their goals”.
Sold Secure at Business Watch Crime Reduction Event
Sold Secure was delighted to have been invited to exhibit at the recent Business Watch Crime Reduction event run by the Hampshire Constabulary on the 1st of July 2009. This once again gave Sold Secure approved products and the approval process itself pride of place at this prestigous security event.
Sold Secure Updates it’s Tracker Test Specification
On the 6th of June 2009, Sold Secure launched it’s new version of SS203; Specification for Tracking Systems for Motor Vehicles and Their Trailors. After significant consultation with stakeholders including; Caravan Clubs, Insurers, ACPO etc the revised specification includes a higher “Diamond” level which is aimed at high end units, capable of withstanding full temperature ranges and working in Europe as well as the UK.

Sold Secure is exhibiting at the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators National Vehicle Crime Conference 2009. Sold Secure launches its new website
Following a significant investment in it’s IT infrastructure, Sold Secure is delighted to present its new website. The website is directly linked to a newly developed database which means that information on approved products is automatically updated. Gone are the days when you had to wait to get the latest approved products list uploaded to the site. Dr Steffan George, Director of Business Development for Sold Secure said “It’s great to have the new site up and running. The automatic link to the new database means that insurance companies, police, as well as members of the public will have correct information immediately to hand”.
HOSDB 09 Exhibition a great success for Sold Secure
Sold Secure and the MLA were invited to exhibit at the prestigous HOSDB 09 exhibition at RAF Halton. The event was a tremendous success with a significant number of Police, Government and Military contacts being made and a significant number of Sold Secure Approved Products Catalogues being distributed.
Local MEP visits Sold Secure
The local MEP Chris Heaton-Harris visited Sold Secure on the 20th of February. Impressed with the variety of testing and importance of third party certification of products he complemented the team on the vital role they play in validating the security of products.
Government’s Burglary Prevention Leaflet promotes Sold Secure
Sold Secure and the associated approved products have been recommended by the Government in the leaflet associated with it’s recent push to reduce burglary. Sold Secure was present at the Totally Secure 09 show in Earls court. The show enabled the crime prevention officers who attended to collect their latest approved products catalogue as well as potential customers to discuss testing of their products.

Sold Secure Test Specifications updated
Following significant consultation with police, insurers and various industry bodies, Sold Secure has updated it’s entire list of test specifications as well as the list of tools used. This process enables Sold Secure to ensure it stays up to date with current theft methods and is something that will be undertaken on a regular basis.
New Technical Manager employed by Sold Secure
Justin Freeman has been employed by the MLA Group as Technical Manager. His role at Sold Secure wil include amongst other things assisting lab manager Steve Warren with working on test specifications, checking and signing off test reports as well as representing Sold Secure on the numerous technical committees it’s present on. Justin joins having had 15+ years experience in the lock industry including time at Henry Squires, Mul-T-Lock and Hoppe.
